Worth knowing
Redback: black with the red dorsal stripe, builds a messy tangled web low down: under seats, in letterboxes, beneath the lip of outdoor furniture, in the shed. Bites cause severe pain and require medical attention.
Funnel-web relatives: ground dwelling, found in the more heavily vegetated fringes of our service area. Treat any large, dark, ground-dwelling spider with respect.
Huntsman: large, fast, alarming, and essentially harmless. They eat cockroaches. We'd suggest leaving them.
What treatment involves
- De-webbing eaves, window frames and external surfaces first
