The two that matter
German cockroach: small, tan, two dark stripes behind the head. Lives indoors, breeds indoors, and multiplies fast. A single female and her offspring can produce tens of thousands in a year. This is the one that infests kitchens.
American cockroach: large, reddish-brown, up to 40mm. Lives in sewers, drains, subfloors and roof voids, and wanders inside. Less about breeding indoors, more about entry points.
Why supermarket sprays make it worse
Repellent aerosols scatter a German cockroach population into wall cavities and appliance housings, splitting one treatable harbourage into ten you can't reach. Gel baiting works because roaches feed, return to harbourage, and pass the active ingredient through the population.
What we do
- Gel bait to harbourage: hinges, motor housings, cupboard voids
- Insect growth regulator to stop nymphs reaching breeding age
- Dust to inaccessible voids and the roof
- External perimeter to stop American cockroaches entering
