The problem under the panels
The cavity between a solar array and the roof sheet is dry, shaded, warm and completely protected from predators. It is, from a pigeon's point of view, ideal. Once a pair nests there you get droppings down the roof and into the gutters, nesting material blocking downpipes, mites and bird lice migrating into the roof void, and a steady loss of panel efficiency where the mess builds up.
What we do
- Remove and clean out: nests, droppings and debris cleared from beneath the array.
- Sanitise: the area is treated to deal with mites, lice and pathogens left behind.
- Proof: powder-coated galvanised mesh clipped to the panel edges. No drilling, no adhesive on the frame, and nothing that voids your panel warranty.
- Panel clean: we can clean the panels while we're up there. Solar panel cleaning is a service we run in its own right.
Why mesh, not spikes or gel
Spikes and gels move the birds a metre sideways. Physically excluding them from the cavity is the only method that lasts, and it's the only one we'll quote for a solar array.
