The two species
Roof rat (black rat): slender, tail longer than the body, big ears, a superb climber. Lives in roof voids, palm trees and wall cavities. This is the one you hear at night.
Norway rat (brown rat): heavier, blunt-nosed, tail shorter than the body. Burrows. Found in subfloors, drains, compost heaps and commercial waste areas.
Control that lasts
Baiting alone is a treadmill. We combine tamper-resistant lockable baiting with a proofing schedule that closes the entry points, and advice on the food and harbourage keeping them there. See our rodent inspection service.
All external bait is placed in lockable, tamper-resistant stations, secured and mapped. Ask us about non-toxic trapping programs if you'd rather no bait on site at all.
