Why fleas come back
Adult fleas are a small fraction of the infestation. Eggs drop off the animal and hatch in carpet, bedding and subfloor dust. The pupae can lie dormant for months and hatch in response to vibration and carbon dioxide, which is why a house that's been empty for weeks can erupt the day the new tenant walks in.
Our treatment
- Insect growth regulator to break the life cycle at the larval stage
- Residual to carpet, floor edges, pet bedding and the subfloor
- External treatment to shaded areas where the animal rests
What you need to do
- Vacuum thoroughly before we arrive and again daily for two weeks, because vibration triggers hatching, and hatching is what you want
- Wash all pet bedding
- Treat the animals on the same day, through your vet
